BSides 2025 Badge Assembly
1. Assemble Resistors
- 8 x 30 Ohm resistors – Orange / Black / Black bands
 - 4 x 100 kOhm resistors – Brown / Black / Yellow bands
 - 3 x 20 kOhm resistors – Red / Black / Orange bands

Bend the legs of resistors into a U shape. Insert resistors into the board according to the labels on the silk screen.
When inserting the resistors into the board, bend the legs on the other side to help keep them in place.
Flip the badge over and solder the resistors in place.
Trim the legs of the resistors off using side cutters. When trimming, ensure that you hold the leg when cutting it to prevent it from flying off.
2. Assemble capacitors and transistors
- 3 x 0.47 uF capacitors
 - 4 x BJT transistors.

Insert the four transistors into the locations labeled Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. Ensure the flat side of the transistor is facing toward the flat side of the silk screen outline.
Insert the three capacitors into the locations labeled C1, C3 and C4.
When inserting the components, bend their legs on the other side of the board to help keep them in place.
Flip the badge over and solder the components in place.
Trim the legs of the components after soldering. When trimming, ensure that you hold the leg when cutting it to prevent it from flying off.
3. Assemble LEDs
- 8 x LEDs

Insert the eight LEDs into the areas labeled D1 – D8. Ensure the LED lens is on the opposite side of the badge. Insert the short leg of the LED into the square shaped hole.
When inserting the components, bend their legs on the other side of the board to help keep them in place.
Flip the badge over and solder the components in place.
Trim the legs of the components after soldering. When trimming, ensure that you hold the leg when cutting it to prevent it from flying off.
4. Assemble battery holder and switch
- 1 x Battery Holder
 - 1 x Switch

Insert the switch into the area labeled SW2. The fit may be tight.
Insert the battery holder into the area labeled BT1. The tall side of the battery holder goes to the square shaped hole labeled +.
Carefully flip the badge over ensuring the battery holder does not fall out of place. Solder the switch and battery holder in place.
Trim the legs of the battery holder to remove the sharp points.
5. Assembly Complete!
Assembly is now complete. Insert a battery to test the board and ensure it works.
